Hotel El Viandante is located in the middle of the road between Santa Elena town and Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve.
To get here please follow the main road heading to Monteverde Cloud Forest. About 1.5 km you will a sign that says “turn left” and drive for only 2 blocks and here we are.

HOW TO GET HERE
From San Jose Costa Rica Airport
- Take the #1 road towards Liberia City
- 2 hours later, you will see Sardinal Entrance
- Take the Sardinal Entrance and follow signs
- Continue on the unpaved road for the last 17 klms to get to Santa Elena and then Monteverde
From Liberia Airport
- Take #1 road towards San Jose City
- 2 hours later you will get to Las Juntas town
- Get into the town and follow signs to Santa Elena
- Continue the last 20 kms on the unpaved road.
Important tips when driven a rental car
- Do not drive in night time
- Rent a GPS, this is a great travel tool, specially in Costa Rica
- Do not exceed speed limits, Costa Rica has strong penalties against speed exceeds
- 4x4 is strongly recommended in Monteverde.
